Step-by-step instructions to make a basic mask which will fit your face exactly.
1. Making sure hair is out of the way spread some Vaseline all over your face, covering every part that will be under the mask.
2. One at a time dip strips of Mod Roc into water and start laying them onto your face. Begin by place two strips crossed on the bridge of your nose between your eyes and pressing them into place.
3. Gradually add more wet strips, overlapping them and rubbing them so that they mould to the shape of your face.
4. Cover forehead, around the eyes, over the nose, cheeks, around your mouth and finally the chin. (For a small masquerade mask, just shape around the eyes and over the nose)
5. Once you have completed one layer, re-cover the whole mask two more times to strengthen it.
6. The plaster dries quite quickly, by the time you have completed the last layer you will feel that the first layer is fairly stiff so leave the mask in place for about ten minutes before removing.
7. To loosen the mask contract and expand the facial muscles by screwing up your face and gently stretching it.
8. As you feel the mask loosen, carefully remove and leave to dry overnight to dry-out completely.
9. This is the basic mask ready for decoration.
